The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. We serve chronic, habitual, histrionic alcoholics and addicts with a history of relapse and little hope of recovery. Ninety-five percent of the clients are referred to us from VA Health Care Centers and private treatment centers in the four state area.
Our program is based on a transitional living model with progressive levels of accountability. We ask a minimum of one year commitment. Clients do not work for the first 14 days. This time is for the new participant to adjust to their new fellows and surroundings. We encourage job security, education, and residential stability .
The founder of The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. Tom Hubbs had over twenty years in program development in Transitional Housing for homeless recovering alcoholics and addicts. Now, recovery centers, the VA, and the local community look to H.O.U.S.E., Inc. for shelter, volunteer services, as well as our successful experience in transitional housing and providing support services. An added strength is the Missouri State Access To Recovery Program that makes it possible to provide a variety of support services to resident clients and community clients.
The H.O.U.S.E. Inc, has been in operation since September 27, 1996. Today we own and operate a total of seven residential houses, and all are located in the cities of Joplin, Webb City, and Jasper County, Missouri. We currently have a capacity for 157 residents.
